The joint monitoring team has successfully concluded its week-long visit across the Guji and Gedeo Zones, where they evaluated the progress of ongoing development projects.

At the end of their field assessments, the team from Menschen für Menschen Switzerland (MfM) held a final feedback session with the Ethio Wetlands and Natural Resources Association (EWNRA) implementing officers in Dilla, providing valuable insights and recommendations.

During the feedback meeting, the MfM team commended the EWNRA staff for their dedication and impressive achievements since the inception of the project, particularly highlighting recent progress in various project activities. The team expressed appreciation for the staff’s commitment to delivering impactful results on the ground. However, they also pointed out certain gaps and areas for improvement observed during their field visits.

As the projects in the Abaya district are approaching completion by 2025, the MfM team emphasized the importance of ensuring that the project’s outcomes are sustainable and continue to benefit the local communities. They urged the EWNRA team to focus on solidifying the impact and making sure that project gains are maintained beyond the formal end date.

Looking ahead, the monitoring team underscored the need for extensive preparations for the upcoming project set to launch in the Raphe district of Gedeo Zone. They stressed that critical groundwork—such as selecting beneficiaries, establishing office spaces, and organizing logistics—needs to be prioritized to ensure a smooth rollout of the project.

EWNRA staff expressed deep gratitude to the visiting team for their ongoing support and commitment to enhancing project sustainability. They acknowledged the constructive feedback provided and reaffirmed their commitment to addressing the identified challenges. The team pledged to leverage these insights to achieve even greater results in the future, ensuring that their projects continue to make a lasting positive impact on the communities they serve.
