Ethio Wetlands and Natural Resources Association (EWNRA) participated in a tree planting program as part of the national green legacy movement and ecosystem restoration. Today 19th July 2023 EWNRA along with many other civic society organizations have planted thousands of indigenous tree seedlings in Oromia region around Chancho town.
Mainly organized by the PHE Ethiopia consortium, office of the national council for the coordination of public participation to the Construction of GERD and Chancho area administration, the program was conducted at one of the tributary watershed to the Nile River which gives multi benefits for Ethiopia.
Farmers and residents of the area have participated in the program which makes the plantation more sustainable to be managed and followed up by the nearby community.
