It is with deep sorrow and profound sadness that the Ethio Wetlands and Natural Resources Association (EWNRA) announces the passing of our colleague, Ato Adino Mitiku, who served as a security staff member at our project site in Ghuala, East Belesa Woreda.
Ato Adino passed away on the evening of Friday, June 14, 2025, following a sudden illness that lasted only two days. His funeral was held the following day, Saturday, in his birthplace, surrounded by loved ones and community members. Born on July 31, 1994. Adino was only 30 years old. He joined EWNRA on September 3, 2023, and in his brief time with us, he was known for his dedication, discipline, and quiet commitment to his duties.
He leaves behind his beloved wife and one child. Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences go out to his family, friends, and all those who knew and cared for him. The EWNRA family mourns this loss deeply.
This is a very difficult moment for us as an organization. Over the last 24 years, we have lost three staff members, and each loss has left a lasting mark. The passing of Adino is not just the loss of a colleague—it is the loss of a valued member of our team and community.
May his soul rest in eternal peace.
