A visiting team from Menschen für Menschen Switzerland (MfMCH) and EWNRA is conducting a regular monitoring visit in Hambela Wamena for the second time this year.
The team has included leading representatives from Menschen für Menschen Switzerland, Mr Getachew Zewdu and Dr. Martin Gunder as well as the Executive Director of EWNRA Mr Afework Hailu with his team members.
The first-day visit covered three developed on-spot springs (freshwater), and two newly selected springs to be developed ahead.
The team has also discussed with members of the community who are benefiting from the water springs development. The discussion has included Kebele leaders and WaSHCO members. The team also talked with a newly selected sheep-rearing beneficiary.
The “Integrated Actions for Building Resilient Communities’’ project is fully financed by Menschen für Menschen Switzerland (MfM CH).
With a commencement date of January 1st, 2024, the new project will have a duration of three years until December 31st, 2026, and is planned to support more than 33,000 beneficiaries directly and indirectly out of which 50% is set to be constituted by women beneficiaries.
